The Renter solemnly declares that they have read and fully and unreservedly accept the vehicle rental terms and conditions set out herein. The Renter bears full and exclusive responsibility for the condition of the vehicle, which was delivered to them immediately after the signing of the Rental Agreement.
Renter / Driver Age
The Renter and every declared driver must have reached the age of twenty-one (21).
Additional Driver
The details of each additional driver must be stated on the front page of this Rental Agreement. If the vehicle is driven by a person who has not been declared and is not stated in the Rental Agreement, a charge of €100 shall be imposed.
Driving Licence
The Renter and every declared driver are required to hold a valid driving licence that is legally recognised in Greece and has been issued at least twenty-four (24) months prior to the signing of this Rental Agreement. In the case of an International Driving Permit, it must be accompanied by the driving licence issued in the driver’s country of origin.
Payment Method
The Renter is required to present a valid credit or debit card, even if the rental payment is made in cash.
Minimum Rental Period
The minimum rental period is one day, namely twenty-four (24) hours. If the vehicle is returned more than sixty (60) minutes after the agreed rental expiry time, the Renter shall be charged for one additional full day. In the event of the early return of the vehicle, the Renter is required to pay the full rental amount corresponding to the agreed rental period.
Rental Extension and Change of Geographical Limit
An extension of the rental period or a change to the agreed geographical limit within which the vehicle may be driven is permitted only with the prior approval of the Lessor Company.
Booking Deposit
In order to reserve the vehicle, the Renter is required to pay in advance the amount stated on the front page of this Rental Agreement. In the event of cancellation of the booking, the deposit amount shall not be refunded.
Rental Fee
The daily rental fee is agreed at the amount stated on the front page of this Rental Agreement and is payable in advance upon signing the Rental Agreement.
Security Deposit
Upon delivery of the vehicle to the Renter, the security deposit amount stated in the Rental Agreement shall be reserved on the Renter’s credit or debit card. The amount shall be released after the vehicle has been returned and inspected by the Lessor Company, provided that no additional charges arise. The release of the amount may take up to fourteen (14) days, depending on the issuing bank of the credit or debit card.
Vehicle Condition
The Renter declares that they have inspected the vehicle, that they received it in excellent condition and that it is suitable for the use and purpose for which it is intended. Any additional observations regarding the condition of the vehicle shall be recorded in the Rental Agreement before the vehicle is delivered to the Renter.
Vehicle Delivery and Return
The Renter is required to return the vehicle, together with all accompanying documents, keys, accessories and additional equipment, at the time and place stated herein. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition in which it was delivered and with the same quantity and quality of fuel. If the vehicle is returned with a lower quantity of fuel, the Renter shall be charged for the value of the difference. If the vehicle is returned with a greater quantity of fuel, the difference shall not be refunded or offset. If the Renter fails to return the vehicle at the agreed place and time, they shall be required to pay the standard charge for the continued use of the vehicle, as well as compensation for any actual or consequential loss that the Lessor Company may suffer.
Repossession of the Vehicle
The Lessor Company reserves the right to recover possession and use of the vehicle at any time, without prior notice and without the Renter’s consent, at the Renter’s expense, from any location and by any lawful means. This right may be exercised when, at the discretion of the Lessor Company, there is a risk of damage, loss or theft of the vehicle or when the terms and conditions of this Rental Agreement are violated.
Insurance Coverage
The rental of the vehicle is covered by Collision Damage Waiver insurance for damage or theft (CDW), subject to an excess up to the amount stated in the Rental Agreement. The excess amount shall be borne by the Renter in the event of an insured incident and may be reserved as a security deposit. The Renter is fully liable for any damage that is not covered by the insurance. Indicatively, CDW insurance does not cover damage resulting from improper or unsuitable use of the vehicle, such as driving outside the paved road network. It also does not cover damage to or theft of the tyres, rims, mirrors, windows, windscreen, interior or underside of the vehicle, additional equipment, keys, personal belongings or luggage. Damage caused by a driver who is not stated in the Rental Agreement as the main or an additional driver is also not covered.
Accident
In the event of an accident, the Renter is required to immediately notify the Lessor Company, the APEIRON Accident Assistance Service and the Police. Upon returning the vehicle, the Renter must provide the relevant reports and Police documents. If the above procedures are not followed, the Renter shall be charged with the full amount of the damage, without any insurance coverage, and all applicable legal procedures shall be followed. In the event of an accident caused through the fault of the Renter, the Renter shall be charged €30 plus 24% VAT for administration costs, as well as the loss of rental income for the period during which the vehicle remains out of service.
Prohibitions
Driving or transporting the vehicle outside Greek territory is strictly prohibited. Loading or transporting the vehicle by ship, train or any other means of transport is permitted only with the prior written authorisation of the Lessor Company. The use of the vehicle for purposes that violate Greek law or the terms of this Rental Agreement is prohibited. In particular, the following are prohibited: a) the transportation of persons or goods in return for monetary or other compensation, b) the towing of other vehicles or objects, c) participation in speed races, trials or demonstrations, d) the subletting or transfer of the vehicle to third parties, e) driving under the influence of alcohol, prohibited substances or pharmaceutical products that affect the ability to drive, f) violation of the Greek Traffic Code or other rules, g) driving by a person who is not stated herein as the main or an additional driver, h) the transportation of an excessive number of passengers or heavy, flammable, dirty, foul-smelling, illegal or smuggled items, i) the illegal transportation of Greek or foreign nationals, j) the use of the vehicle as a means of committing criminal offences, k) driving outside the paved road network or on dirt roads and l) smoking inside the vehicle.
Financial Fines and Penalties
All financial fines, administrative or other penalties, as well as court or other expenses that may arise from violations during the period in which the vehicle is in the possession or use of the Renter, shall be borne fully and exclusively by the Renter. This obligation shall also apply where the relevant violations or charges are imposed on the Lessor Company as the owner of the vehicle. The Renter and every additional driver shall be jointly and severally liable for the compensation of any damage that the Lessor Company may suffer.
Vehicle Cleaning
If, upon return of the vehicle, biological or special cleaning is deemed necessary, the Renter shall be charged €100.
Delivery at Athens International Airport
For the delivery or collection of the vehicle at Athens International Airport, an additional charge of €30 shall apply, in addition to the cost of other deliveries or collections within Athens.
Excess Mileage
For every kilometre exceeding the agreed mileage limit, a charge of €0.30 per kilometre shall apply, namely €30 per 100 additional kilometres.
Personal Data
The Renter gives their consent to the recording and processing of their personal data in an electronic system. The Lessor Company reserves the right to use such data in the event of false declarations or violation of the terms of the agreement by the Renter. The Lessor Company may also disclose the necessary data to the competent Greek authorities in the event of the commission of a criminal or other offence.
GPS Tracking System
The Lessor Company informs the Renter that the rented vehicle is equipped with a GPS geographical tracking system for security reasons. The system is used to locate the vehicle in the event of theft, loss or accident, as well as for the protection of the vehicle and the public interest. The Renter declares that they have been informed accordingly and unreservedly accept the operation of the system.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Rental Agreement shall be governed by Greek law. For any dispute arising between the contracting parties from the interpretation or performance of this Rental Agreement, the courts of Athens shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
Accident Charge
In the event of an accident, the Renter is required to pay the amount of €600.
